- Do the full-length Practice AP exam.
- Watch the TED Talk by Sir Ken Robinson, "How Schools Kill Creativity," and write a 400+ word response to his argument. Refer to specific parts of his talk, throughout his talk, in your response.
- Watch the TED Talk by Lisa Bu, "How books can open your mind," and write a 400+ word response to her argument. Refer to specific parts of her talk, throughout her talk, in your response.
- Imagine you are a teacher. Read the online article "Why the Growth Mindset Is the Only Way to Learn." Write a 400+ word proposal about how you would implement the ideas in your classroom as a teacher.
- Write a 300+ word review of the UIL One-Act play. Attach to program or ticket.
- Watch season 1, episode 1 of the Fox TV show Cosmos (available via Netflix and on demand via Xfinity) and write a 300+ word personal response to the episode.
- Watch season 2, episode 2 ("White Bear") of the British TV show, Black Mirror, which is like a modern day Twilight Zone, but each episode is set in the near future and questions our relationship to technology. After viewing, write a 3-00+ word essay analyzing what you believe to be the message (or theme) the makers of the episode had in mind. (This episode contains R-rated language, so it's up to you to acquire parental permission to watch it, if necessary in your household).
- See one of the following three shows, write a 300+ word review, and attach it to your ticket stub or program.
